Senior Financial Tax Manager
Dennis Benimoff grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Hunter College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, cum laude. Upon graduation, he worked in a New York City CPA firm where he became experienced in the audits of both publicly owned and privately owned businesses. He also worked on providing accounting and tax planning services for small and medium sized businesses and their owners, emphasizing both Federal and New York State income taxes – compliance and income tax planning.
While working for the New York CPA firm, he passed the CPA Exam and received his Certified Public Accounting certificate.
Later, Dennis moved to Florida and worked in the stock brokerage industry in order to obtain knowledge in financial planning. While working in the stock brokerage business, Dennis met a number of stockbrokers who went on to start their own stock brokerage firms. Dennis then utilized his knowledge and experience as an auditor in New York to perform audits of the financial statements of their stock brokerage firms. These companies had complex tax structures and operated in many states. With these clients, Dennis developed expertise in tax planning and preparation of federal and state, consolidated tax returns. Some of these companies maintained 401(k) Retirement Plans, which Dennis also audited.
In January 1985, Dennis began work at Louis Mamo & Company as a senior accountant working on accounting and taxes for small businesses and their owners. Dennis also prepared the financial statements for clients in the construction industry. These statements were required by the companies in order to obtain financing and bonding. Dennis also successfully represented the firm’s clients on any IRS audits of their tax returns.
To further his knowledge in the areas of taxes and financial planning, Dennis prepared for and received his Certified Financial Planner Certificate.
In 2007, wanting to assist clients in retirement planning, Dennis studied for and became licensed in Florida to sell clients fixed life insurance and fixed annuity products. As a result, Dennis was able to utilize his licenses and credentials to provide retirement planning services to clients so that they would not outlive their money.
