Carol Martin grew up in suburban Washington, D.C. She attended college at Benjamin Franklin University School of Accountancy, Prince George and Broward Community Colleges, and graduated from Fort Lauderdale College. Her requisite public accounting internship followed in the Fort Lauderdale office of former Coopers & Lybrand, CPA, now known as PricewatershouseCoopers. During her internship Carol worked in their Small Business Department, automated their clientele to a mini-computer system and eventually took over a number of their client accounts following the closure of that department.
In the following years Carol maintained an accounting and information service practice where she applied her skills in full service accounting to tax return preparation in addition to its implementation to computers from mainframe to PC. One such installation on behalf of All Service Refuse Company lead to her role as their interim CFO during this former family owned entity’s transition to Waste Management, at present a subsidiary of Republic Services. This lead to forensic accounting on behalf of several court ordered administrations on behalf of State administered receiverships in addition to the Economic Crimes Unit of the Florida Attorney General’s office. Throughout her career Carol worked on various engagements and assignments for a variety of the small businesses for profit and nonprofit, She was also involved with the National Council of Senior Citizens in an attempt to begin Universal healthcare before moving to Florida.
In addition to the former Fortune 1000 entities such as Blockbuster Entertainment, Alamo-Rent-A Car, American Express, Citrix, and Levitt & Sons, she has also been affiliated with Lauderdale Beach Hotel and Lighthouse Cove Resort. Carol also had the privilege of handling the accounting, and assisting the Traveling Secretary, security and management on behalf of the New York Yankees during Spring Training at the Fort Lauderdale Yankees Stadium until their relocation to Tampa, Carol joined Louis Mamo and Company during the 2015 tax season.
