Who Else Wants a $31,000 Check from the IRS?

Who Else Wants a $31,000 Check from the IRS?

June 16, 2022

Our firm received a $31,000 check from the IRS last month for the Employee Retention Credit, or ERC.  How would you like a check that big, or even a lot bigger?

The ERC arrived as part of the CARES Act that Congress passed in 2020.  We have used that law to help our clients and ourselves pay employees since the pandemic started.

To obtain the Employee Retention Credit, a business or nonprofit organization must have done these 2 things:

  1. It must have paid payroll taxes to employees in 2019, 2020, and 2021, or in any 2 of those years; and
  2. It must have suffered at least a short decline in sales in 2020 or 2021.

By reviewing your Profit & Loss statements, our accountants can see which time-periods qualify for the ERC.  Then we use your payroll records and payroll-tax returns to compute your credit and file the IRS forms that will bring you the IRS checks.

The ERC rules are very complicated.  They come from 3 federal laws and many pages of IRS questions and answers.  Our accountants have used those rules to help other clients and now are ready to help your company or nonprofit, too.

To get YOUR share of that Employee Retention Credit money, call Louis Mamo & Company today at (954) 942-1120 and say, “I want some Employee Retention Credit!”
